Are you doing what you’re good at in a way you love?
When I was trying to fit my business into an online box, I heard this question and it got me thinking.
This was four years ago and I had been listening to hours and hours of webinars, learning and trying to implement lots of tech stuff!
For anyone who knows me, you know that tech is not my thing but for some reason I’d got it into my head that this was the way forward. Those big ‘should’s’ were very loud and it’s what everyone else seemed to be doing (so a spot of comparisonitis there too!)
I had been stuck at my desk, in my office, day after day, week after week – and to be truthful I hated it and was going slightly crazy!
A lightbulb moment
Until one day, I was listening to something quite different – it was more ‘soul’ based and a slightly spiritual take on how to do business. Now I’m not particularly spiritual (although I’ve been told otherwise!) but I do have an open mind and I do believe that there are other ways of doing things.
Anyhow, it was a relief to be listening to something different and that question I asked right at the start of this post – well the speaker said ‘do what you’re good at in a way that you love’!
This was one of those ‘aha’ moments and I thought – I hate what I’ve been doing – stuck at my desk and computer on my own – not seeing anyone for days on end.
Connecting my passions
I love walking, being outside and connecting in person and I’m good at what I do, which is coaching awesome business women to shine and grow!
So why not combine the two?
I wrote down ‘walkandtalk’, then ‘walkandtalk mastermind’ and there was my light bulb moment to start doing part of my business differently!
Next I wondered whether anyone else I knew would like to do this – get outside, away from the desk and computer, to talk business and get that connection and support that I was seeking.
Well the answer was a loud ‘YES’ and so here we are four years later.
The model has changed slightly over the years and we’ve had the pleasure of walking and helping women with all kinds and sizes of business.
Something these lovely ladies all have in a common is a desire to connect, to not be doing it alone, to share and learn from each other while they grow a thriving business. And they want to do it in a way that works for them and the rest of their lives.
What lights you up?
If you’ve ever thought – there must be another way, or the way you do stuff doesn’t light you up – then why not play with some ideas to include new ways of doing things that bring you joy!
If walking in nature whilst working on your business could play a part, I can help you do this 1:1 or as part of the group.
I’m very happy to chat through options so get in touch.
Here’s to more joy in our every working day.
